RISE OF THE MACHINES

ABOUT

This automated robot features the latest Carbon Capture technology allowing it to reduce air pollution levels. The full name of my robot is; “Carbon Capturing Plum Blossom (CCPB)”/ “碳聚積 梅花” or “Méihuā” meaning Plum Blossom for short.

Air pollution is a serious issue within the cities of China. Only during the pandemic of COVID-19 in 2020 did residents of these cities see the clear skies again. That is why the design is based on the chinese national flower of the plum blossom and takes other forms of inspiration from different areas of chinese culture.

CONCEPTUAL PROMOTIONAL FILM

Created as a part of my show reel for the BRIT School Emerging Talent Competition funded by the Royal Bank of Canada 2021

FINAL PRODUCTS

P.S: This project has its own website where you can view all my research and the steps I took to create this campaign concept.

CUSTOM TEXTURE

During post production to exaggerate the circular shape language and repetition of hexagons I created my own solar panel texture in Photoshop with a bump map. I then edited it accordingly when applied to my robot.
